I may or may not be posting many things in the next couple of weeks and I just wanted to explain why..

Last night around 9:15 pm, there was a big boom in my neighborhood. At first my mom and I thought it was a firework, but the noise sounded wrong and the ground shook a little. As I went to look out my front window, my dad ran out of his room and said our neighbors (James) house blew up. I was the first of my family to run outside and all I saw was his house falling apart.

My dad, along with another neighbor, ran to the house to see if James was okay. He was on the ground saying where he was and he was hurt. James ended up being taken away in an ambulance & then airlifted to a hospital different with burns over 70% of his body. As of right now, and since we're not family, we don't know anymore of his condition. His dog, MJ, miraculously survived by hiding herself in the hole beneath her doghouse outside. She spent the night with us before being taken in by her previous owner.

We live in an unincorporated part of Joliet, so there are no fire hydrants in the area. There were water trucks coming in from many of the surrounding cities.

Part of me hates myself for taking pictures as all of this was happening.
